Description : Here we have an original vintage 1987 boxing poster from the Atlantic City heavyweight title fight. In 1987 Michael Spinks he was stripped of the IBF heavyweight crown he'd won from Larry Holmes in 1985 for refusing to fight the IBF mandatory challenger, Tony Tucker, and accepting a higher financial offer to fight Gerry Cooney instead. Spinks knocked out Cooney in five rounds, and after Mike Tyson had unified the Heavyweight belts, fans started clamoring for a fight between them as many still recognized Spinks as the legitimate Lineal champion.
