Reigning & defending European middleweight boss Herol Graham blew his No 1 world ranking apart when he lost a unanimous decision to another world ranked contender in Kalambay in a bout that many thought would be a one sided affair in Grahams favour as he waited for his world title shot. The champion took it upon himself to ditch his superb boxing skills in an ill advised effort to impress the American TV audience by adopting a more aggressive crowd pleasing style much to the despair & disappointment of his life long trainer Brendan Ingle who pleaded thought the fight for his charge to change tactics but to no avail. Kalambay's hand was deservedly raised with judges scores of 116-115, 116-114, 116-113 all in favour of the new champion Sambu Kalambay.
