In 2005, Reid landed a shot at IBF super middleweight title holder Jeff Lacy, but due to an unsettled & problematic training camp, Reid never performed to the level that was expected of himself & what we were accustomed too, he was totally dominated from start to finish & eventually stopped in the 8th round & Jeff Lacy accorded an 8th round victory by TKO...Jeff lacy was the new rising superstar & the next coming of Mike Tyson to some! That myth was soon destroyed when WBO Super/Middleweight Title holder Joe Calzaghe thrashed him a unification fight.
