Description : Here we have an official full-size HBO Boxing closed circuit poster for the Oscar De La Hoya vs. David Kamau battle for the WBC Welterweight Championship on June 14th 1997 at the Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas, USA.

This was Oscars 1st defence of the WBC crown he won when he defeated boxing legend Pernell Whitaker, albeit by contentious decision. David Kamau was a rock hard Kenyan who had already challenged the great Julio Cesar Chavez for the Light/Welterweight title now hoped for success at the higher weight class, but to no avail as De La Hoya knocked him out at 2.54 of the 2nd round.
