CARL FRAMPTON vs. SCOTT QUIGG (Site)

Description : We have here an original onsite main event promotional poster for the IBF/WBA World super-bantamweight championship unification title bout held at the Manchester Arena, Manchester England, 27th February 2016.

In a much anticipated domestic unification battle the spoils went to Carl "The Jackal" Frampton" who added Scott Quiggs WBA belt to his own IBF bauble in a thriller of a battle. Promoter Eddie Hearn revealed that Quigg was in tears after the fight after his first loss in his 34th fight, and it emerged Manchester United captain Rooney had been one of the first to speak to Quigg in the intimate moments after defeat. Quigg joked: "He said to keep my chin up - I said I'd have to keep it straight first," in reference to the fact that it may have been broken in the fourth round. The 27-year-old added: "I'm killing inside, absolutely devastated. But I'll come back and I'll be better for it."

Scott Quigg admitted that the punch which landed flush on his jaw in that fourth stanza had broken it & had led to him being cautious for a long period of the fight, having begun his assault on Frampton from the eighth round onward, it turned out to be too little, too late! One judge scored for Quigg 115-113 but overruled by scores of 116-112 (Twice) to give victory to the new IBF/WBA unified super-bantamweight boss Carl Frampton.
