Reigning & defending British middleweight boss Herol Graham was just coming off his first unsuccessful world title challenge against the formidable WBA champion Mike McCallum only to just fall short. Next up for his British title was up & coming formidable banger in London's Rod Douglas. Graham weathered some early pressure only to expose the gulf in class over the outclassed challenger when he hailed victory over his brave challenger by 9th round TKO. Rod Douglas received severe head injuries during this bout & had to retire never to fight again.
