What a nightmare night in Birmingham for England's Pat Cowdell, when he challenged "The terrible warrior" Azumah Nelson for the WBC featherweight title. Azumah Nelson knocked out Pat Cowdell in the 1st round with an uppercut from hell, Pat Cowdell had previously taken the great Salvador Sanchez the full 15 rounds but had no answer to the devastating power of Nelson who took his time just stalking Pat Cowdell until the opportunity presented itself to unleash that devastating KO blow....BOOM! Pat remained ironed out on the canvas as the referee reached the count of ten. Cowdell was unconscious in the ring for several minutes following the bout before eventually being roused to his feet.
