Steve Collins (Holder) successfully defended his world title for the 7th & last time when he stopped his challenger at 1.17 of round number 3 to claim victory by TKO. Both fighters hit the canvas in the first round no doubt giving Cummings hope of an upset, but to no avail. Steve Collins retired after this bout.
