Mosley has held world titles in three weight divisions, having held the IBF lightweight title, Lineal, WBC, & WBA (Super) welterweight titles, and Lineal, WBC, WBA (Super), & The Ring light-middleweight titles. In 2000 and 2001 he was The Ring pound for pound best fighter in the world.

Eight minutes was as long as the Bristol-born Adrian Stone lasted against the World Boxing Council welterweight champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley on a hot Saturday night at Caesars Palace. The Predator, as the American-based Stone now likes to be called, had no answer to the blinding speed and punching power of the undefeated Mosley, who took his remarkable record to 38-0. This, his 35th knockout, came after 2min 1sec of round three. The beginning of the end was midway through the third when Mosley landed a series of clubbing overhand rights to Stone's head. Stone was game but his clumsy attempts to tie up the champion were ineffective against Mosley's brilliant footwork. As the Briton lunged forward, the American stepped back to deliver a textbook combination to Stone's unprotected head. A vicious left hook landed cleanly on Stone's jaw, followed by a right hand that he never saw, knocking him out.
