Juan Manuel Marquez failed in his attempt to win a title in a 5th weight class when he dropped a unanimous decision to the reigning & defending WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley who was making the 2nd defence of his crown. Overall punch count statistics: Bradley 168 punches landed of 562 thrown; Marquez 153 punches landed of 455 thrown. However, punch statistics showed Marquez connecting on 115 power punches to Bradleys 86. Timothy Bradley's victory quote after the bout: "I gave him (Marquez) a boxing lesson. He couldn't touch me. I had complete control. "Marquez replied: "I clearly won. I have been robbed six times in my career. You don't have to knock down the other guy to win the fight."
