Description : Here we have a superb official full-size HBO Boxing closed circuit poster for the Oscar De La Hoya vs. Derrell Coley battle for the vacant International Boxing Association Welterweight Championship on February 22nd 2000 at the Madison Square Garden, New York, USA.
Derrell Coley did a lot of talking before his fight against Oscar De La Hoya last night at Madison Square Garden. He fumed that he had been ignored. He said he was going to destroy De La Hoya, because De La Hoya had made him wait so long for a shot. But anger and talk can get a boxer only so far. Ultimately it comes down to talent, skill and punching power as De La Hoya, 27, proved by knocking out Coley, 29, with a crushing left hand to the body at the end of the seventh round before a crowd of 13,814. De La Hoya (32-1) controlled the fight almost from start to finish, and it became evident that Coley (34-2-2) was in over his head.
These HBO & Showtime PPV posters are not made available for public consumption & can only be sourced from a participating PPV outlet hence the scarcity as once the televised event if over, then these posters go straight to skip.
